Today, I inaugurate a new category: the TV series . Or more accurately, a selection of TV shows I like, so you can share them.
I'll start with the excellent series Rescue Me , Denis Leary and Peter for Nolan, broadcast on the FX channel (U.S.).
This series follows the adventures of firefighters working in a barracks in New York after September 11 . The main character, played by Denis Leary, must confront, in addition to the fire, his personal problems: the collapse of his marriage, his addiction to drugs, alcohol, and hallucinations which denote his cousin, also a firefighter, died in the collapse of the World Trade Center. It is surrounded by colorful characters, including Janet's ex-wife, Sheila, the widow of his cousin, Mike and Sean, two blue cocks the barracks, his Uncle Teddy, his other cousin Mike, who tries to put it in the right way, etc. ...
This series oscillates between comedy and drama. And if, after an excellent start in the first two seasons, the show falters a bit during the 3rd and 4th season especially, the 5th season has regained the level before.
And all served with a rather nice soundtrack: The Von Bondies, Stereophonics, Tom McRae, The Subways, etc. ...
Here is the trailer for Season 5, followed by the link to buy the DVDs if you enjoyed it.

PS: look VO series of preference, possibly with sub-titles if you do not understand everything. It is always better than watching them in VF ![]()
